The Edge of Experience

It is often said in the MMA community that fighting is a young man’s sport. While it is true there is a shelf life for fighters and the more youthful and hungry of those has the slight edge, there are some to which the concept just does not apply. Former UFC light-heavyweight champion, Glover Teixeira is one of those fighters. Not since Randy Couture have we seen a proven champion in his mid-forties. Having fought through a young, shark-infested division to get his second shot after an equally hard-fought previous run at the title. Now he looks ahead to reclaiming the title he just lost, and showing no signs that there are plans to hang up the gloves.

With a long-awaited and well-earned retirement somewhere on the horizon, the former champ realizes that while he may retire from fighting, he will never be retired from teaching. On top of actively fighting full-time, Glover also runs a successful MMA academy in Connecticut. Applying his many years of teaching to an in-depth curriculum that is geared toward both beginners and veterans alike, he will be offering a select few seminars in between fight camps. Standing as one of the most experienced fighters in high-level MMA, any opportunity to learn from this champion is not to be missed.
